Sometimes, we say that we Chinese neglect our traditional holidays, then why celebrating all those foreign ones?

But the truth is, there are all kinds of business celebrations in the shops, on the stands, all over your houses, and these make us very very hard to neglect the importance of foreign holidays.

The aged people around us or coming into big cities from their villages don't know much about holidays, fashionable and foreign, but they do go to supermarkets for daily necessities. Seeing all kinds of decorations for Halloween or Christmas, they are actually part of that.

You don't think your parents know the date of Valentines' Day and have no sense celebrating that, do you? If not, you are outdated. Becasue every grandma or grandpa around me knows not only Valentines' Day, but also Mother's Day, Father's Day.

And they do sincerely expect greetings from us for their own Mother or Father's big days. Because business wants a new boom in foreign holidays, they decorate their shops and stands to attract attention and also sell their products much easier.

So, to some extent, we Chinese are somewhat forced to celebrate important foreign holidays and are usually pushed forward by business.

If it helps the economy boom and makes our life colourful and interesting, if we don't see that as a culture invasion, then, what's the bad thing for that?

Nothing, except the kidgartens lay too much emphasis on foreign holidays. They have big parties, they decorate their rooms, they make parents do lots of handicrafts for foreign holidays, neglecting some traditional Chinese holidays.

Anyway, enjoy your Halloween with your beloved family and friends. Happy all day long and all year round! The end.
